What do you feel this course (UN100) should focus on?
~I think this course should focus on adapting from college to high school. Many freshman have difficulty adapting to college life because they don't expect college to be any different than high school. When in reality there is much more work involved in college. I feel that although the "Fast Food Nation" is interesting, that it is not necessary. I also think the class should focus on like it has how to get involved in college. Many freshman I feel like are unsure of afraid of how to get involved in college activities and clubs.
What do you need help in, specifically? Please write at least one paragraph focusing on your specific academic needs. That's it - have a great week!
~I need help in learning how to not procrastinate over the weekends. I have gotten better at not putting everything off till Sunday night, but I could still use help. I often find myself getting caught up in the activities over the weekend, and completely lose sight of doing my homework. Then Sunday comes and I am stressed and overwhelmed with the amount of homework i have to do. So essentially i need help learning how to better manage my time on the weekend. During the week i am great at managing my time. I just always seem to find that i take full advantage of the extra time i have on the week and often loose track of how fast the time is going. I also need to learn how to go to bed earlier on the weeknights. I often seem to find myself doing things at night that i don't need to do and then next thing i know its midnight and i am tired in class the next day. So i really need to learn to watch the clock more so that i don't stay up so late on the weekdays.

Absolutely, like I keep telling others, now that you have recognized what you need to work on, it's time to DO IT :) Easier said than done.. true. We will be discussing procrastination in class for the next few weeks since it seems to be the biggest problem among you all. Time Mgmt. is a huge issue to deal with and there are so many temptations living on your own for the first time.
10/10
I am a procrastinator too. I wish I had this great advice that I could give you but.... not so much. I think I'm going to try to "break the habit". Stephanie says it takes 30 days to break one so I'm thinking about making myself do my homework at set times throughout the week. I hate having to rush through my homework on Sundays so hopefully if I can become accustomed to finishing up homework during the week I can have a less stressful weekend.
I also have the same problem with staying up too late. I will admit that my social life gets in the way a lot lately. If a friend wants to go to the beach... "Uh HELL YEAH!" If someone wants to go to the movies...I'm gone. I think my main problem is that I like the fact that I can do what I like when I want. I'm hoping that I can make a big step here soon and buckle down. I need to set priorities. Homework, Studying, then maybe hanging out some friends after I've gotten everything accomplished. Also, try thinking about your motivation. What's pushing you through school? I want to be the first one in my family to graduate from a University 4 years after highschool. I want a good paying job at a young age.
I hope some of my thoughts come as good pieces of advice. Have a good weekend!
